Solon, OH — A new document published by Aerospace Maintenance Solutions, LLC (AMS) describes the company’s testing, troubleshooting, repair, and overhaul capabilities for many common gyros and accelerometers. Gyroscopes tested and repaired include displacement, lead computing, rate, and roll gyros. These gyro and accelerometer units are typically found on C-130, F-5, F-15, F-16, UH-1, UH-60, and other military aircraft platforms.
Trained technicians at AMS operate an in-house, two-axis Rate Table to simulate aircraft acceleration forces along lateral and normal axis and rate of turn in two axis positions. They test horizontal and vertical rates from 0 to 860 degrees per second, and +/- 10 Gs of acceleration. Technicians also validate accelerometer and gyroscopic operational specifications being tested are within acceptable tolerance ranges.
All tests, repairs, and overhaul procedures are conducted within the company’s approved AS9110 Quality system.
