AMS welcomes DCMA representative to new on-site office

Solon, Ohio – Starting in July of 2020, Aerospace Maintenance Solutions, LLC (AMS) will welcome a DCMA representative to an onsite office at AMS headquarters in Solon, Ohio.

DCMA is an agency of the U.S. federal government reporting to the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment. It is responsible for administering contracts for the Department of Defense and other authorized federal agencies.

DCMA oversight is a “higher level contract requirement” for contracts AMS has with the United States (U.S.) military and prime military aircraft OEMs (e.g., Lockheed Martin). AMS is an FAA Part 145 repair station with an AS9110 Quality system. The DCMA (Defense Contract Management Agency) supports the culture of Quality at AMS.

The new on-site office arrangement makes sense for both DCMA and AMS because the DCMA representative is regularly at the facility now to inspect AMS maintenance, repair, and overhaul work completed for the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and military aircraft OEMs. The representative will also continue inspection duties with other companies in the Cleveland area.

DCMA oversight also benefits foreign military allies by upholding the highest standards of quality, workmanship, and reliability.
