U.S. Navy approves AMS as repair source for DC Power Converters

Solon, OH – The United States Navy’s Naval Surface Warfare Center has approved Aerospace Maintenance Solutions, LLC (AMS) as a repair source for power converters used in naval air search radar SPS-48E. Approval was granted by NAVSUP Weapons Support System through the Navy’s In-Service Engineering Activity (ISEA).

The part numbers for the ITT Gilfillan power converters are PN195963-1 (NSN: 5840-01-226-2380) and 195961-3 (NSN: 5840-01-226-2379).

ISEA completed its review of the AMS Source Approval Request package for the DC power converter in July of 2020, and subsequently granted approval for repairs by AMS.

AMS has repair capabilities for many radar components on multiple military aircraft platforms. Repair capabilities include Radar Receiver/Transmitters, Radar Control Sets, Radar Scan Converters, and Radar Indicators.

AMS supports many other legacy components on military aircraft. The company has a long history of developing unique and rare MRO capabilities for multiple branches of the U.S. Government.

Comprehensive engineering and support programs are developed within an AS9110 environment. They include schematics, parts breakdowns, and test procedures to support on-going operation of components, and the mission readiness of the U.S. Military customers as well as foreign military allies.
