U.S. Air Force approves AMS as repair source for Head-Up Display

Solon, OH – The U.S. Air Force Sustainment Center (AFMC) at Hill Air Force Base in Utah has approved Aerospace Maintenance Solutions, LLC (AMS) as a qualified source for F-16 HUD repairs. This qualification covers HUD part numbers 79-049-12 (NSN 1270-01-462-3958) and 79-049-13 (NSN 1270-01-199-7430).

These HUD units can be repaired and overhauled as complete LRUs, but the company also repairs individual components of the HUDs. For example, AMS repair and overhaul capabilities include the HUD’s Optical Module 229-009904 (NSN 1270-01-076-2551) and its Tube Unit Assembly, which includes part numbers 229-005785-06 and 229-005785-05 (NSN 1270-01-075-4767). The company has capabilities for the HUD’s Video Sensor, part number 1291B5, and Control Panel Assembly, part number 16F8469 too.

Aside from the HUD, AMS supports many other legacy components on F-16s and other military aircraft. The company has a long history of developing unique and rare MRO capabilities for multiple branches of the U.S. Government.  Their comprehensive engineering and support programs are developed within an AS9110 environment. Schematics, parts breakdowns, and test procedures developed within this environment support on-going operation of components, and the mission readiness of the U.S. Military customers as well as foreign military allies.
